The Finance Committee will hold three public hearings on the proposed monthly infrastructure fee to fund solely the planned Port Clinton Infrastructure Improvement Project sanitary sewer, storm sewer, waterline, and overlying roadway improvements portions.
The purpose of the hearings is to solicit public comment on the proposed monthly fee, equal to $12.50 each month for a single family household with both water and sewer service, as presented in Ordinance 28-20. If the ordinance is passed by Council, the proposed monthly fee would be effective beginning in January 2021. The Help 2 Others (H2O) financial assistance program would be made available to senior citizens who meet certain criteria. A copy of the ordinance is available on the City’s website for review.
Ordinance 28-20 saw its first reading on the City Council agenda on November 24, 2020. The ordinance is scheduled for its second reading on the City Council agenda Tuesday, December 8, 2020, and third reading on the City Council agenda Tuesday, December 22, 2020.
The three public hearings will be held via Zoom. Interested residents and any Port Clinton water and sewer customers may participate through the Zoom online video conference platform or by dialing in to the hearing by telephone. The hearings will be held:
Wednesday, December 2, at 6:30 pm
Monday, December 14, at 6:30 pm
Thursday, December 17, at 6:30 pm
These committee hearings are in addition to the public comment opportunities available during the bimonthly City Council meetings scheduled Tuesday, December 8, 2020, at 6:00 pm, and Tuesday, December 22, 2020, at 6:00 pm. These meetings are also held via Zoom.
